BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 sudah menggunakan System Operasi OS 5.0. Dengan OS 5.0 pengguna dapat menikmati tambahan software, yang mendukung fitur-fitur hardware pada smartphone tersebut.
BlackBerry Storm 2 alias ODIN ini juga dibekali koneksi Wi-Fi yang tidak ada pada versi sebelumnya. Dari segi tampilan nyaris tak terlalu berbeda dengan BlackBerry Storm 9500 kecuali perubahan di sektor tombol yang menyatu dengan layar. Material glossy yang memoles body smartphone ini membuatnya tampil lebih mewah dari pendahulunya. Layar sentuh masih mengandalkan teknologi capacitive namun dengan kontrol Sure-press, sehingga menyempurnakan kemampuannya. BB Odin juga dilengkapi dengan camera beresolusi 3.15 Megapixel dan memori internal berpasitas 2GB plus flash memory 256 MB.
